Happy 59th Birthday, Singapore! 🇸🇬❤️

Our celebrations reached every corner of our Westlite dormitories, where our migrant worker residents joined in the festivities with heartfelt enthusiasm. Donning our national colors and waving the Singapore flag, they brought the spirit of National Day to life.

Though they come from different walks of life and various nationalities, we embrace them as part of our Singapore society. We are proud to welcome them to celebrate our country as their home away from home. Here's to unity, diversity, Together, as One United People!

We were delighted to be part of the PAssion Arts Festival 2024, organized by People's Association and Bukit Batok East Community Arts & Culture Club. This past weekend, 19 of our enthusiastic staff members volunteered at various booths, helping to create foam art, crochet keychains, paper origami, and recycled art.

It was a joyful and rewarding experience, engaging with the residents at Toh Guan Park and helping them unleash their inner artistic talents.

A heartfelt thank you to People's Association for inviting us. Being involved in the community and fostering a strong sense of togetherness and belonging through art is truly wonderful. These are the same values we embody within our migrant worker resident community and through our community events.

𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗶 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 🌟

Last Sunday, our migrant workers from all 9 Westlite dormitories enjoyed a wonderful day out in celebration of Hari Raya Haji. Westlite organized an exciting trip to the Trick Eye Museum and Fort Siloso, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone!

At the Trick Eye Museum, our workers had a blast taking photos with augmented reality displays, which brought their creativity to life and provided endless fun and laughter. 📸🤳 The museum's interactive exhibits allowed everyone to dive into a world of imagination and unique photo opportunities.

The adventure continued at Fort Siloso, where our workers explored the lush treeline and delved into the rich history of this iconic site.

To top off the day, everyone enjoyed a hearty meal of delicious chicken biryani, paired with refreshing soft drinks and water.

We are grateful for the opportunity to bring joy and relaxation to our hardworking migrant workers. Here's to more such wonderful experiences in the future!

🎓 Celebrating Achievement at Westlite Woodlands!

Last weekend marked a significant milestone for our migrant workers as we celebrated the graduation of the first batch of students from our 4-month computer class program at Westlite Woodlands!

Conducted every Sunday by SGSkills Training in collaboration with Trent Global College, this program empowers the migrant community through free education in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD short courses. It’s a fantastic initiative that offers 100% free training for foreign workers in Singapore.

Our dedicated participants learned essential skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. We are thrilled to announce that six of our migrant workers were certified last Saturday, 25th May 2024.

A big congratulations to our newly certified graduates! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. Looking forward to seeing more migrant workers benefit from and excel in this program.

What Our Partners Are Saying

“Their avid willingness to contribute to society and immense persistence despite hardships is admirable. The visit helped me see them beyond the label of ‘migrant workers’ — as individuals with intriguing backgrounds, as unsung heroes in the city.”

"Living in a foreign land, teacher Terri allows me to fill the warmth of a big family. She helped me no longer feel dull living in Singapore, found my past confidence, let us have a chance to walk up the stage to portray another aspect of me. I also wish to thank every teacher from Happy Happy English for teaching me English. Tonight I felt extremely happy as people from Bangladesh, India and us were able to perform [a skit] and sing together. It is like a harmonious and big family. This is the brightest and happiest moment during my stay in Singapore."

“Fiestas have always been close to my heart… This idea of getting a meal is comforting, it’s like [being] welcomed. Some of [the migrants workers] even called home to tell their wives and say, ‘See, I’m with this person!’ It’s sort of like, I’ve gone to this new land and I made a friend!”
